Frances Story (née Poet Jen Harris) is a Kansas City–based teaching writer whose work blends creative grit with emotional honesty. A proud wife and member of the first generation of federally recognized married lesbians, she writes from the front lines of love and resistance. Her work explores queer-specific struggles, including chosen motherhood.
Featured in Washington Post, Netflix Queer Eye, and Creative Mornings among others, Frances Story (she/her) is the author of 3 books of poetry and the recipient of various accolades.
As the Founder of Salt Tooth Writers Story facilitates literary workshops, offers editorial services and creative coaching. She is currently teaching and pursuing her MFA at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
